Hey thanks for droppin by.

I'm an expat residing on an island in the South Pacific (Cebu in the Philippines to be precise). I take care of two toddlers and a bunch of other mammals.

Speaking of mammals, I don't eat them. It's hard to eat something you can bond with. My neighbor used to keep a cow in my yard, and she wouldn't come near me at first.

On hot days I'd haul water for her. She didn't have a name so I called her Bessie. (Yeah I know, I'm Mr Originality. But you know, I bet she's the only Bessie on the island.)

Eventually Bessie and I got so close we'd take naps together. (It's like playing the role of a cat napping with a human - when the cow rolls over, you better get out of the way, fast!)

But hey, if you eat mammals, I'm cool with that. There is room in this world for vicious carnivores like you, and mafists like myself. Wanna go golfing sometime?

See ya around.

Thanks for the response last week Nick!

I decided to stop eating mammals. Your web page made me think that I have seen a lot of pet pigs and calves. I had considered being a vegetarian some time back, but I knew I wouldn't be able to do that

Jim Odom Feb 22, 2010 00:54

I am so honored that you decided to follow me, and so I should write some Intels, huh? Thanks for adding that great bowling link to your comment on my blog.

It took me a while to figure out how, but I am now following you here

Hi Nick,

Interesting website about MAFISM. I had never heard the word. I was a vegetarian until a few weeks ago. In fact I was vegan. But the diet is hard to follow and all this "fake meat" makes one look like a hypocrite. My wife has been a "fishtarian" for many years and I have now joined her. I guess we are both "mafists".

Good job.

Hey Nick,

I just realized that we can message one another. Thanks for the heads up.

Since you are being so nice. I'm a dummy about codes and stuff. Did you mean the code for Google Analytics?

Thanks so much for the heads up. I'll be looking into this.

If you ever think you have some free time to educate me on this kind of thing, perhaps we can swap knowledge. For instance, I could do your chart, and some forecasting for you.

Hi Nick:

Thanks for the note. I dropped by your site. I am a vegetarian wannabe and failing pathetically. It's the adobo. I am cutting meat one day at a time from my diet to start with. I am a yogi wannabe and eating meat is not good by yogi standards and my high cholesterol.

I'm happy to meet a fellow reader. I'd rather read than go to the movies though I'm an avid movie goer myself. It's tragic to hear the library closed. What can we do. Can we send some books?

Thank you!

Hi Nick, Cheers for the follow, this reminds me of an ABBA song "follow me follow you" but not sure if that was what it was called anyway I love the picture, all the girls love a frog and some even kiss em. Fantabulas, Ted.

Hi Nick, thanks for bookmarking my page. I just read your website and find it very interesting. Its actually how I already eat and have eaten for years. I was a complete vegetarian for many years prior. I do think its possible for nonmammalian animals such as some birds and reptiles to form bonds with others that are not their own species. Actually, this has inspired me to write about one such case! thanks :) anyway, I am now following you, your intel is all great.

Nick:

Thanks for your kind note. I sent the link to your Mafism site off to my wife who is a vegetarian wannabe. I'm a confirmed meat eater and I'm also the cook in the family. I try to fix foods for her which would match her vegetarian desire, but she keeps reaching across the table to grab some of the steak from my plate.

We live in Uruguay, which still has a beef industry that based on grass-fed steers. The meats are so good here, I don't eat much beef when we visit the states.

When in SM Sucat, eat at BODHI for the best vegetarian food for the Gods!
